Dr. Joseph Alter, professor of Anthropology and director of Pitt's Asian Studies Center, has been named new editor of the Journal of Asian Studies.
Founded in 1941 originally as the Far Eastern Quarterly, the Journal of Asian Studies is the flagship journal in the field of Asian Studies. The journal features an array of multidiciplinary research articles, state-of-the-field essays, and book reviews.
